Well-being / Rehabilitation Program




Well-Being: the state of being happy, healthy or prosperous.



The MDHA Rehabilitation/Well-being Committee is chaired by a licensed social worker/Registered Dental Hygienist and a clinical coordinator who is a mental Health/ substance abuse professional.




Robin Swope R.D.H., M.S.W. is Chairperson of the MDHA Well-Being/Rehabilitation Committee. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1974 and has continuously worked in that field both full or part-time since then. In 1997, Robin completed her studies at the University of Maryland earning her masters degree in social work. She has worked with employee assistance programs providing short term counseling to employees with work place and personal issues She has been Chairperson of the Maryland Dental Hygienists' Association Well-Being/Rehabilitation Program for over 10 years and had served as a committee member for 3 years prior to being appointed the chair. She is currently working as a Medical Social Worker for a non-profit health care organization.

Heather Healy, LCSW-C, CCDC, CEAP, SAP, LAP-C is Clinical Coordinator of the MDHA Well-Being/Rehabilitation Committee. She is a licensed Mental Health Provider with 22 years of mental health/substance abuse treatment expertise. Heather has been clinical Coordinator with MDHA-Well-being/Rehabilitation Committee for over 10 years. Heather is also the International Director of the Employee Assistance Program for the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO headquartered in
Washington, D.C.
Heather is a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is a Certified Chemical dependency Counselor, a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, a a Certified Substance Abuse Professional for regulated drug testing and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. She also serves as a field instructor for the University of Maryland, School of Social Work Master's program and a course instructor at the National Labor College, located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Heather has been involved in designing and delivering employee assistance programs and services to a broad range of different organizations for over 20 years. In addition to her EAP work, she provides consultative services to State and federal organizations around workplace prevention and wellness programs and maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Maryland.
